ABH | The Foundation Awards $64,000 in Grants
ABH | The Foundation held its annual grant-making meeting on November 9th. Over $64,000 in grants were awarded to the following organizations:
Children’s Dental Services – the grant will be used to create tobacco cessation education and materials for at-risk, under-served youth, to include culturally-tailored information on flavored commercial tobacco and smokeless tobacco cessation.
Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery – grant will support the Pediatric Assessment and Medical Management program providing medical care and health assessments to all children staying at the crisis nursery.
HOPE Dental Clinic – Free dental care, oral health outreach and education for 2000+ low income, uninsured adults, children and families for those disproportionally impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Minnesota Mental Health Community Foundation – Funds will be used to create an on-demand training modules and fund workshops to introduce Version 4 of Fast-TrackerMN, connecting Minnesotans to mental health providers and resources, including video vignettes and chat functions to introduce or better acclimate users to the new processes and functionality.
Phillips Neighborhood Clinic – a UMN Academic Health Center student-run clinic located in the Phillips Neighborhood community, funds will be used to support clinic operational expenses and the purchase of medical supplies, lab tests, and medications.
Roundtable Rx – grant will be used for general operation support connecting under-resourced Minnesotans with affordable medications while reducing pharmaceutical waste by redistributing un-used medications.
Steve Rummler HOPE Network – grant will be used to create, as part of a series, educational videos aimed at providing shortform, informative content on OUD and chronic pain.
ABH | The Foundation Medical Student Scholarship – This annual scholarship is awarded to a UMN Medical Student with a focus on those currently under-represented in medicine, for excellence, leadership, service, and advocacy in health care.
