ABH | The Foundation administers awards and scholarships each year to physicians and community members who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to medicine and health in Minnesota.
Charles Bolles Bolles-Rogers Award
Background
The late Mr. Charles Bolles Bolles-Rogers established this award, originally called the St. Barnabas Bowl, in 1951. Mr. Bolles-Rogers served on the St. Barnabas Hospital Board of Trustees and was President of that Board for many years. Mr. Bolles-Rogers died in 1975 at the age of 91 but prior to his death, he made provision for this award to be funded in perpetuity. This award is awarded through ABH | The Foundation.
How to Nominate a Physician
The Medical Directors and Chiefs of Staff of the Twin Cities area hospitals and Clinic Administrators/Leadership make nominations for the Charles Bolles Bolles-Rogers Award annually. The ABH l The Foundation Board of Directors has the honor of selecting the recipient.
Criteria
The Charles Bolles Bolles-Rogers Award is presented to a physician who, in the opinion of the selection committee, has made exceptional contributions to medical research, achievement, or leadership. This award recognizes an outstanding physician whose professional contributions have distinguished them both this year and in previous years.
The award is presented to the recipient by the Officers of ABH l The Foundation at a medical staff meeting at the recipient’s hospital, clinic, or other appropriate forum.
Nominations will be accepted during summer 2025.

Annual Medical Student Scholarship for Excellence
ABH l The Foundation is pleased to provide an annual scholarship of $3,000 to a University of Minnesota Medical Student, focusing on those currently underrepresented in medicine for excellence in leadership, service, and advocacy in health care.
