Attendees will learn from:

Jenny Breen, Chef, MPH, MS Ed, has been working at the intersection of human, community and environmental health in the Twin Cities and throughout the country for 25 years. In addition to operating a restaurant and catering business, she has been actively involved in food justice and community health work throughout this time. She and her collaborators create custom training, learning experiences, programming and community engagement focused on personal or professional food, health and sustainability skills, human and planetary health, wellbeing, equity and justice.

Kate Shafto, MD, is an Internal Medicine, Pediatrics and Integrative Medicine physician with Hennepin Healthcare and the University of Minnesota's Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing. She is based in General Internal Medicine at Hennepin Healthcare, and has been instrumental in the development of Group Medical Visit programs focused on Chronic Pain Self-Management through non-pharmacological and integrative strategies. She has been co-teaching an interprofessional culinary nutrition and food systems course called Food Matters for 8 years, both at the graduate and continuing professional education levels.

Sophie Wallerstedt, MPP MPH, Public Affairs Manager at Second Harvest Heartland. Sophie has an extensive background in grassroots advocacy, lobbying, and public policy. Prior to working at Second Harvest Heartland, she was the Health & Health Care Policy Advisory for the Office of Governor Tim Walz and has almost 10 years of experience working in and around the Minnesota State Capitol. She holds a BA in History, a Master's in Public Policy, and a Master's in Public Health, all from the University of Minnesota.
