Introducing 2025-26 ABH Board Officers including Rachel Stoll, CHW as Board President

At their February meeting, the ABH Board of Directors elected Rachel Stoll, a passionate community health worker from Rushford, MN, to the position of ABH Board President. We thanked Dr. Etienne Djevi for his leadership as 2024-25 President and celebrated our incoming Board Officers.

ABH Board President

For the first time in our organization’s more than 170 years, ABH has elected a non-physician from outside of the Twin Cities to lead our organization. This historic moment is yet another step in ABH’s evolution to becoming an organization of interdisciplinary health professionals working to advance health equity throughout Minnesota.

Rachel Stoll brings extensive experience in community health and advocacy. She currently serves as the CHW Training Manager for the Minnesota Community Health Workers Alliance, equipping future community health workers with the skills to serve their communities. Her journey includes work with Winona Health, earning her CHW Certificate from Minnesota West Community & Technical College, and a BA in Anthropology from Marquette University. Rachel lives on a scenic homestead in Southwest Minnesota with her spouse and two children.

A fierce advocate for health equity and access, Rachel is ready to lead ABH. “I believe that equitable access to healthy environments and healthcare is a fundamental human right. We all deserve better health!” She wasted no time getting to work. On Feb. 12, she testified at the state capitol in support of universal school meals, sharing her perspective as both a mother of public-school children and a community health worker who understands the critical role food access plays in public health.

Thank you to outgoing Board President Etienne Djevi, MD

Past Board President

ABH also extends our deepest gratitude to outgoing Board President Etienne Djevi, MD, who remains on the ABH Board. Under Dr. Djevi’s leadership, ABH transitioned into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, launched a three-year strategic plan, diversified funding and partnerships, expanded programming, and passed a balanced budget. During his tenure, Dr. Djevi also led the Board to update the mission of ABH to “support, equip, and connect all kinds of advocates to advance health equity in Minnesota. ABH is dedicated to creating a healthy, equitable, and thriving state by supporting public health initiatives informed by community and in collaboration with health professionals.” Thank you, Dr. Djevi, for providing your thoughtfulness, energy, and leadership to ABH!
